SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Start spreading the news: Google Inc. is offering free wi-fi to one neighborhood in the Big Apple.

Google on Tuesday said it’s offering free wi-fi access to the city’s southwest Chelsea neighborhood, creating what the Internet giant said is the “first wired neighborhood in Manhattan and the largest contiguous wi-fi network in New York City.”
