NEDAS, an association located at the intersection of wireline and wireless with a goal of improving communications infrastructure for buildings, municipalities, public safety and more, recently announced the appointment of two industry executives as Committee Chairpersons for its organization. The appointment of Laurie Caruso, new Chair of the NEDAS Charity Committee, and Douglas Fishman, Chair of the NEDAS Welcome Committee, was announced at the NEDAS Boston Symposium on July 17, 2019.
Caruso is founder and CEO of Safe-Fi Technologies, bringing more than 26 years of experience in telecommunications and exhibiting deep expertise overseeing large system deployments with an emphasis on public safety. In her expanded NEDAS role, she will identify charities and raise awareness for selected charitable organizations at each NEDAS event.
While she currently working with two other members of the NEDAS Advisory Committee to identify new charities for 2020, Caruso unveiled the first charity pick during the NEDAS Boston Symposium. She announced that NEDAS is implementing campaigns to raise awareness and drive donations for the Tower Family Foundation, a charity focusing on aiding the families of those who were injured or lost their lives working on communications tower installations.
Meanwhile, Fishman, Director of DAS Design and Implementation for SQUAN for six years and a member of the NEDAS Advisory Council since 2013, will work with two members of the Council to develop programs and outreach initiatives for new NEDAS attendees. The new programs will welcome individuals and businesses that are new to the community and facilitate networking opportunities. Throughout his history in telecommunications, Fishman has contributed to numerous DAS projects including the Javits Center, the World Financial Center and the Central Park Tower and has served as a panelist or moderator at numerous NEDAS events.
Both Chairpersons will continue to implement their program missions at NEDAS’ next event, the NEDAS NYC Summit, which will be held on September 5, 2019 at Convene Times Square. NEDAS events are managed and organized in partnership with iMiller Public Relations. The NYC Summit is the association’s largest annual gathering of commercial real estate, in-building wireless, service providers, carriers, tower operators, hardware and software providers, public safety experts and integrators. The event focuses on solving the technical challenges facing the convergence of wireline and wireless technologies.
